This is a very simple dish that tastes just delicious and completes our series of the different flavors of potatoes au gratin.

Ingredients
4 potatoes
2 onions, large size
1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
1 cup double cream
Salt and pepper
Directions
1. Peel and slice potatoes into ½ cm thin slices, cut onions into very thin slices.
2. In a baking dish, arrange potato slices overlapping to form a layer covering the bottom of baking dish. Arrange a layer of onion slices over potato layer.
3. Sprinkle 1/3 cup of shredded cheese over onion layer. Make another layer of potatoes then another layer of onions.
4. Add 1 cup water, cream and little salt and pepper. Sprinkle top with remaining cheese.
5. Heat oven to 200 C. Put baking dish in oven and bake for 45 minutes until potatoes are tender and surface is golden. Serve immediately.
